Season predictions and Everton preview August 15, 2009

Crystal ball gazing time. These are my predictions:

Season Predictions

1. Arsenal make 2 signings before the end of the transfer window. One of them happens in the last hour
2. The top 4 to become a top 5 – Man City to be a threat. The”surprise team” Wenger alluded to shall be West Ham. They shall finish 6th
3. Barca have a poor season – by their own stratospheric standards and finish without a trophy
4. Arsenal to exceed expectations of most pundits. They will win a cup (FA Cup/Champions League), finish 2nd or 3rd in the premiership and reach the final of the Carling Cup
5. Arsenal to score a record number of goals this season.
6. Chelsea to scrape through to win the EPL. Lampard to be player of the season
7. 4-5 teams to be in with a shot to win the Premiership going into the last month
8. Wenger to announce his retirement from an active coach/manager role after 2011. To be director of football at Arsenal

* If Diaby was fit, he would have started; now it is a toss up between Denilson and Eboue. I think Arsene will prefer Denilson for this game
